SPRING 2008: Tied in 31st place with a 14-over 302 at the Big 12 Golf Championships ... tied in 39th place at the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational ... he carded a 68-72-72 on the course ... finished in a 39th-place tie with a 225 at the UTSA Invitational ... recorded a 72-72 - 144 for an even par 14th-place tie at the Linger Longer Invitational ... fired a strong three-round 221 at the Western Intercollegiate where he finished in a 10th-place tie ... vaulted 15 spots in the final round with a 2-over 73 and finished in a 34th-place tie at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate and fired rounds of 76-77-73 for a 226.
FALL 2007 (Sophomore):
Competed in five events during the fall, leading the team with a scoring average of 71.47 per round...Shot a low round of 68 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, where he tied for sixth overall...finished second at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate with a three-over 216...His best finish came at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate, where he tied for first by shooting three-under 213...Named Big 12 Men's Golfer of the Month for October...Also named Golf World College Player of the Week during October.
SPRING 2007 (Freshman):
Followed up amazing fall campaign with a stellar spring... Shot a low round of 67 in the National Invitational... Posted his best overall score of the spring in the same event by shooting a four-under par. After participating in eight events, Will finished third on the team in scoring average by carding an average of 73.87 per round... Posted the second lowest average score of those players participating in more than two events... Best finish was a tie for seventh at the National Invitational.
Fall 2006 (Freshman):
In his first year as a Red Raider, Griffin competed in five fall tournaments with a season stroke average of 74.00... In the fourth tournament of the season, he placed the highest for Tech in the Jerry Pate National tournament where he tied for second with a three-round combined score of 201, 12-under-par... Fired a 9-under 62 in the second round to break the school record by two shots... 54-hole score of 201 also broke the school record, which was a 202 shot by Mark Allen in 1989... Placed 30th at the International Collegiate Tournament turning in a scorecard of 222.
BEFORE TECH:
Named a 2006 AJGA All-American... Tallied six AJGA Top 10s... Finished first at the Valero Texas Open in 2006... Finished second at the AHGA OSSO in 2005... Finished third at the AJGA PING Harvey Penick in 2004... Finished fourth at the 2005 AJGA PING Junior in 2005... Four-time District 27-4A Individual medalist... Shot 64 at high school regionals and won by 10 strokes... 2005 Texas State Junior Boys' champion and runner-up in 2006... Finished fifth at the Texas State Amateur in 2005 and sixth in 2006
